Blog Updates

If you're wondering why the multiple re-posts, it's because I updated a number of their settings on the blogs and accidentally unpublished and republished those articles.

Apologies...

Lunch in The Burgh

Just got done having lunch at a little Mediterranean cafe called Daphne Cafe here in Pittsburgh.

Terrie had the Daphne Wrap...lamb, tomato, lettuce, onion in a flour tortilla.

I had the Daphne Panini...Provolone cheese, tomato, beef pepperoni, and a special red sauce in a panini toasted bun.

We, of course, both had the Humus for an appetizer. This was awesome!

A Kindred Soul

Terrie found a shoe store with a kindred soul (pun intended).

A Girls Day...

Terrie took her niece, Kelsey, to the mall today to get their nails painted, hit the Disney store, and grab a slurpy.

Looks like it was fun!

These are definitely not bullet toes! These are orange sherbet toes.

Memorial Day

Today is Memorial Day! Don't forget to thank all those who've served our country!

Today we all went to the Memorial Service at Willamette National Cemetery. It was very good and very patriotic.

The Howitzer salute and flyover were awesome!

Good Wine, Good Food

Mom, Dad, Terrie and I just got back from Wine tasting and Dinner in Dundee, OR. The winery we wanted to taste at was the Argyle Winery - which has a wonderful Champagne called Argyle Brut (our favorite).

After wine, cheese, and crackers, we went across the street and ate dinner at The Dundee Bistro where Terrie and I shared a wonderful hummus...

...Mom had a bun-less Burger and Fries, Terrie had the Fish...

...and Dad and I each had the Pulled Pork Hoagie (Yum!).

And poor Dixie didn't get to come...but she did get leftovers (lucky dog)!

An Ice Cream Cone Vending Machine?

Saw this outside my hotel room at the Crowne Plaza SFO Airport. I had never heard of such a thing and thought it interesting.

The picture is not the best but it actually drops the cone into a holder and fills it with the ice cream and toppings of your choosing!

Tap Room - Pittsburgh PA

Well... Now I know why UAL only has a ~46% customer satisfaction goal. Terrie and I just got delayed 24 hrs without any reimbursement or accommodations by United Airlines.

So, with all the conventions going on here in The Burgh (who knew?) and a marathon happening, nearly the entire town is booked. But fortunately we were able to find a room available at the Omni William Penn hotel. Now we're sitting in the bar (called "The Tap Room") and I just had a wonderful Club Sandwich and Cabbage Coleslaw.

See for yourself!

Best Italian Hoagie

Yesterday we had lunch again at Pepperoni's and I must say they have the best Italian Hoagie ever. So good, we ended up eating there three times!

The Italian Hoagie

The Italian Hoagie comes with salami, capacolla, pepperoni, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and homemade Italian house dressing on a toasted bun with melted provolone and mozzarella cheeses.

Can you say, "Yum!"? I did, three times!

Lemon Cream Pie

Forgot I had this picture of a very tasty Lemon Cream Pie I had while in Venice, Italy on the island of Murano (the glass factory island).

It was delicious! I was showing someone these pictures and came across this picture.

You want Fries with that....Salad??

I had to post this. It seems only in Pittsburgh (actually, I'm assuming the Greater Ohio Valley region) can you get Fries in a Salad.

Yes....I said Fries in a Salad!

Note the above proof....Also note how it's not an optional item (that's probably more of an East Coast thing though...kind of like Vanilla Ice Cream).
